Association of Lighthouse Keepers | 2016 | City of Glasgow College

I have an obsession with the sea and the people who live and work in and on it. When I heard Emma Dove was meeting and interviewing Lighthouse Keepers and creating a film for the ALK I asked if I could take part. The ALK were keen for me to create a project that celebrated their Keepers so I started to listen to their stories and to draw them. I had been collecting washed up buoys for some time and since I was on residency at Toad’s Caravan in Glasgow I had space and felt inspired to paint these men onto the buoys. The works were then purchased and are soon due for installation in the nautical studies department of the City of Glasgow College.
